As Jewish institutions across the globe scramble for new approaches to counter the tidal wave of antisemitism, Israeli author and influencer Hen Mazzig has come up with his own strategy: an online series in which he chats with Jewish visionaries about how they engage with their heritage, that celebrates Jewish voices in cultural spaces and reveals the depth and diversity of Jewish identity.
Premiering on April 2, 2025, on Mazzig’s YouTube channel, the weekly series And They’re Jewish will take viewers into the personal lives of stars like Debra Messing, Mayim Bialik, Etai Benson, Alexandra Socha and Emmanuelle Chriqui.
Hen joins us to talk about the thinking behind this new endeavor, to give us a glimpse of the of the show and to talk about the project with three of his interviewees: veteran actress Debra Messing, Alexandra Socha (former Glinda in Broadway’s Wicked and Esther Maisel on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) and Etai Benson (former Boq in Broadway’s Wicked, Paul in Company and Papi in Broadway’s The Band’s Visit).
